Before 1994, he spent a decade at the University of Bophuthatswana (now North West University), then brought his insights to senior lecturer roles at the University of the Western Cape. Job Mokgoro's commitment to public service is evident. As the inaugural Director-General of the North West Province in 1994, he managed a vast R7 billion budget and spearheaded the integration of three administrations. Following this, he served as Director-General of the South African Management Development Institute until 2003.
